Capri Music Lessons is dedicated to providing inspired music lessons for students of all ages. We strive to provide an environment for students that is positive, structured, respectful, and supportive. Capri Music Lessons is committed to helping students play the very best they can while developing a long lasting love for music.
Education
Joshua holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, a Bachelor Degree in Music from Capilano University specializing in jazz studies - education, and a Diploma in Music Performance specializing in saxophone performance from Grant MacEwan University. He also holds a grade eight designation in flute performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Joshua has performed in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and the Edmonton Jazz City Festival. He held the lead alto chair with the University of Alberta /Grant MacEwan College Jazz 1 Band, the lead tenor chair with both the Capilano A Band and UBC Jazz 1, and worked for Princess Cruises holding a woodwind chair playing saxophone, flute, and clarinet.
Biography
Joshua Capri is a music educator whose experience spans over a decade and includes founding both the Capri Music Lessons and the music program at Cloverdale Elementary. Joshua was hired to the North Vancouver School District, Vancouver School Board, and Burnaby School District before accepting a position with the North Vancouver School District as the Band Director of five schools. Joshua has been teaching private lessons for the bulk of his career and has taught students as young as 5 and as old as 83.
